Coaching for Drama Schools

Supporting performing arts students to build emotional resilience, self-trust and confidence that lasts.

Drama school is one of the most creatively enriching, emotionally demanding journeys a young person can take.

While other students might sit exams or write essays, drama students are asked to stand in the centre of a room and be seen. Again and again. They’re encouraged to access raw emotion, express deep vulnerability and push past fear in front of their peers — often before they’ve developed the internal tools to support themselves through it.

I give drama students the tools to carry themselves through that with confidence and inner strength.

As a former drama student myself,
I know the intensity of those years.

Performing arts training stretches the nervous system in ways few other environments do. It demands openness, courage, adaptability and presence — but without the right support, it can also magnify insecurity, comparison and emotional overwhelm.

That might look like:

  • The daily pressure to perform and feel good enough

  • The belief that self-worth is tied to the last audition

  • Self-doubt that creeps in when peers are cast

  • The emotional exposure of improv, bodywork, voice, dance and scene study

  • The loneliness of navigating rejection, perfectionism or identity alone

I blend my background in performance with training in emotional wellbeing, coaching and somatic awareness. I create a space where students feel deeply seen and powerfully equipped to face both stage and life with more clarity and strength.

I offer proactive support, not crisis management. Coaching is not therapy, and it’s not a fix. It’s a guided process that helps students access their own inner resources, shift limiting pattern and come home to themselves.

Why coaching Helps drama students

No one teaches you how to hold

all that — and still thrive.

ThaT’s where I come in.

Supporting the whole student

Drama school is demanding in ways that go beyond learning lines or mastering technique. I work with performing arts schools to offer trauma-aware, emotionally intelligent support that meets students where they are — through the highs, the hard weeks and everything in between.

My coaching blends somatic awareness, emotional regulation and practical mindset tools, so students can build genuine resilience from the inside out — not just push through.

Together, we work on things like:

  • Replacing self-doubt with self-trust

  • Staying grounded during feedback, critique and difficult rehearsals

  • Navigating comparison, rejection and peer dynamics with more ease

  • Building real confidence, without hardening or hiding behind a performance mask

  • Creating healthy boundaries and a sense of worth that isn’t dependent on the room

  • Sustaining creativity without burning out

Support can be shaped around what the school and students actually need. This might include:

Workshops

Interactive sessions on confidence, emotional resilience, comparison and self-trust. Always grounded in real training scenarios and co-created with your school’s ethos and student body in mind.

One-to-one coaching

Deeper, individualised support for students who are struggling, stuck or simply ready to do some inner work.

Staff support and training

An introduction to coaching principles, compassionate leadership and how to recognise the early signs of burnout or emotional overload in students.
